Personal Insights

"While working for Scott & White, I began to see the power of the legislative process.  So much so that even though my background was in education, I attained a Masters of Public Administration.  I felt that one day I would seek a political office.  I went back into coaching when I met Coach Spradlin, but knew in January that it was time for me to move on.  After I learned of the current mayor's resignation I knew the time was now.  It's interesting because I never set out to be mayor, I've only set out to make a difference.  This position gives me the platform to positively affect the entire community, including families and businesses through the development of infrastructure, a low tax rate and amenities that can entertain and educate the young and mature alike." - Lamar Collins
